would you look at that...
Oops. Apparently I jumped the gun on starting this bad boy and truly picked a terrible time. I should have known better, but oh well the only place to go from here is up. I suppose with a giant storm approaching, my first big event from work upcoming and a few other big details in the works maybe I was a bit more ambitious than I thought. Lucky for me I have a fantabulous (yes that is a word, Webster is just slow on the uptake) memory and will be able to recall all of the lovely little tid bits that have happened in the past few weeks. For starters I finally made it to event day with the American Lung Association- WOOOHOOOOOO. I love planning events, it makes me happy so being able to plan this event with a great mission and purpose made me doubly happy. In my eyes it was a success, yes there were a few little hiccups along the way and in the days following but I have been able to take a step back and look at these as true learning opportunities. Some of these hiccups have even opened my eyes to the true colors of people, did you know that not everyone is as sweet as pie, with good morals and a balanced character? Well unfortunately it is the truth. But enough about that because while I was able to look and learn from these people I was also able to see how many truly amazing people I have surrounding me in my life. Yes - I have always known my family and besties rock my socks but seriously, sometimes they blow me away. I am so unbelievably lucky to have these people by my side. Then to top off that pile of awesome I saw first hand what a team should look like at work, it was so unreal to watch everyone that I work with pull together and really battle through a long, exhausting but truly successful day but it didn't stop there, they have helped me stand strong even now that the event is over and it is time to tie up the loose ends. It is such a breath of fresh air ( I just realized how cheesy that is considering I work for the ALA and we were "Fighting for Air" this weekend!). All in all we rocked it this past weekend. We raised a very decent chunk of change for a very important cause and a lot of people had a lot of fun. Check check check .... check it out!
